Book club question 📖
What does authenticity look like to you?
The Storyteller🦋
Authenticity will always look like me having my “blonde” patch in my hair. This color represents the light I carry in my spirit despite living in a bleak world meant to drown out light and happiness. My patch reminds me that I was always meant to stand out everywhere I go without apologizing to the world.
Wiz Khalifa inspired this patch obsession.
As a freshman in college trying to figure out who I wanted to be I saw Wiz Khalifa and he emulated the cool, chill, swag that called my spirit. I felt finally I was going to give myself permission to break the status quo of what my image “should look like” and I finally got to be myself. For the first time I didn’t care what others would think about me.
My sophomore year in College Wiz Khalifa performed at my Homecoming.
This was the first and last concert I have ever been to in my life and it was worth the three hour wait for Wiz to take the stage lol
Throughout my journey I realized we shouldn’t take life so seriously as we are forced to believe. I knew I’d rather just have fun every day than continue to please the masses.
There is no one I would rather be
Than myself
